The stars light on fire
Through the eyes of my helmet
I am a comet, shooting across the night sky
Jack Bennett
The stars light on fire
Through the eyes of my helmet
I am a comet, shooting across the night sky
All the feelings gone
And my heart I thought
Dead
But the blood comes creeping in
Breathing fresh movement
New eyes
Exploding in front of me
Like fireworks
In a night sky
Different colours
The way they explode
The sounds they make
Desperately trying to make their mark
If only for a second
To catch someone’s attention
I think I’ll just lay gazing for a while
The stars stare below at their reflections
In the dark mirrors of the sea
Searching for themselves
In their own light
Until they burn out
The stars mate in the night sky
A cluster of stars giving birth
To light after light
Until all that we are
Is pure white
