A Filled Cage

He’s lost her now

The venom festers within him

Throughout all these years

You can see it glowing

It came spewing from his mouth

Sweating through his pores

Leaking from his ears

Travelling through the passages

In his body

Almost undetected

Until all he is

Is a frail, crumbling cage

With stapled paper skin

Filled to the brim with poison

The Food Tastes Too Good

She wants the streets

The lights

The endless rooms

Buzzing with innumerable faces

She wants the food that talks good

The drink that adds fuel to the fires

In her passion, her heart is burning

I’m breathing in her fumes

High on her heart

Her eyes call out my name

Three times

My heart watches hers

Laying down a pyre

Waiting for the flame to catch on

I can’t leave her eyes

The food tastes so good with her

A Million of Me

Press your head against my chest

Drunkedly half-assed dancing

To teenage angst-filled songs

With lyrics that only we think we get

I’ll hold you and kiss you

Just like millions of others

Right at this moment

A million versions of me

In alternate universes

Maybe they’re holding you

Maybe they’re holding another

But what we all feel

Holding our woman

It’s like a cold wave

Flooding our scorched brains

The steam lets off a hiss

Blinding us for a while

In a haze of pink

And when it fades

We all gaze into a face

That simply makes our hearts soar
