The desert sands
I wander through
With just my body
I hold onto
No water, no food, no air
No reasons, I let go
Inside I went
To caverns old and long ago explored
To be another that brings a torch
To light up what we forgot
The desert sands
I wander through
With just my body
I hold onto
No water, no food, no air
No reasons, I let go
Inside I went
To caverns old and long ago explored
To be another that brings a torch
To light up what we forgot
Heaven is in the mind of every person
Hell roars from its depths
It’s up to you
Whether your thoughts drag you to the fires
Or lifts you to the choirs
Come to praise the king
To kneel and kiss his ring
God wills it
And so does his wards
Holding halberds behind
Gleaming in their kings light
My kings light
That burns me
My country, my people, alight
As I take the knee
I’m not lost, I’m found
I’m a man waiting at the bottom
Clawing my way to the top
From the ankles up
It’s the clouds I want
And the views
From the ivory tower
I built
Overlooking the people
With my rod of power
I went outside to greet the day
A smile on my face
A jump to my stride
But the day didn’t care
Plants went on growing
Birds went on singing
People, people
The universe did nothing
But allow me here
That’s not enough for me
I need something more
To be recognised
To be important
So I made a cult
