Dearest Ewa

And I write of you

In full feeling

Full respect of love and history

That your memory stays in mind

While I move on forward

Maybe the roads are unforgiving

That I may trip and lose my way

But even so

Worse would I be

If I didn’t take them at all

I hope in the deepest ocean of your heart

You forgive me and understand

That the human condition

Wasn’t a disease I meant to have contracted

I signed a deal I wasn’t aware of

When I came here to breathe my first lungful of air

That I didn’t mean to hurt you

That you will always possess

A chunk of my heart

Anticipating Love

I shaked

And Shivered

My lips quivered

My hands trembling

At the thought of you near

My heart rattled in its cage

Begging to break out and be set free

My words dull and blase at the fear of exposure

To the pain rendered to me when I was younger

Fleeting dreams and thoughts of love trickle from my soul

I wish to swim through the sea to taste their bitter salts again

To feel love

The Future

When the whispers come

I’m by myself in a tent

Listening to the music

From down the hill

My friends sleeping

With themselves

With others

I’m alone

But not for long

Thrice she called for me

By name

I slept and wondered

Who that angel is and will be

Knocking Back the Wine

Have you ever dreamed

For someone else

Knocked back the wine

To the roof of your mouth

The fumes rising up

To massage the brain

In a red mist

Tantalising the nerve endings

Thinking of you

In a dream

Where I’m in a bar

And you’re sitting there

Under a spotlight

Everyone else in the dark

Everything is in slow-mo

Your laugh up and down

Your eyes dancing around with mine

Your lips longing

And hands wanting

I just want to dance with you

Clumsily, drunkedly all night long

Until the sun comes up

And we wait to meet again

When it goes back down

Because the dark

Gives meaning to the light

Knocking back the wine

Trying to get that dream again

Stargazing

All the feelings gone

And my heart I thought

Dead

But the blood comes creeping in

Breathing fresh movement

New eyes

Exploding in front of me

Like fireworks

In a night sky

Different colours

The way they explode

The sounds they make

Desperately trying to make their mark

If only for a second

To catch someone’s attention

I think I’ll just lay gazing for a while
