Your Body Is Your Universe

Praise the muscles that hold you up

Treat the messengers of our nervous system kindly

Enjoy the rise and fall of your lungs

And the everlasting beat of your heart

Because it’s all you’ve ever known

Since you came into this world

You’ll depart before hearing it stop

  1. Straight to the heart, absolutely great.
So many think the body to be such a burden, when it’s a jeweled blessing – keeps you centered in real time, allows you to develop fleeting impulses into dinners, poetry, love, justice.
Going to re-post this one, Jack. Thanks so much for sharing it.

    1. I very much agree with your point there! Without the body we wouldn’t experience anything good, or anything bad. I’m glad you enjoyed it so much! Thank you so much for all your comments, I really appreciate discussing things with people šŸ™‚ thank you for reposting! I hope to see you around, Michele!! šŸ˜€

  2. SUCH a coincidence because I just started writing something on how your body is like a galaxy or a universe! Unfortunately I stopped mid-way because I couldn’t find the right words, but I think you did beautifully šŸ™‚
