Unfazed Sun

I feel numb

From the blood screaming in the soil

From the eyes that see but don’t feel

The heart that beats but doesn’t live

From the child asking where his mother is

The bombs that erupt in flesh

And the sun

That gives light to these horrors

Every day, uncaring
